So, here we are. As my pink orchid blooms for the second time this year, BRAG has launched the first of what we hope to be our annual Poetry Prize. Not only will you be in with a chance with winning £100 and publication in our print literary magazine, but a healthy portion of the proceeds will be going towards our chosen Peat Conservation Charity. But, perhaps more importantly, you'll have bragging rights.
The BRAG Poetry Prize will be judged by editors Will S. Barnard and Brandon T. Bennett, and - for the sake of inclusivity - you will be invited to a virtual reading event in celebration. But how, you may be asking, do you enter?
Entry is £5 per poem, and £3 for students and unwaged. Everyone who submits will be helping towards the BRAG cause, as well as providing money to important charities in the UK. If you have ever purchased a copy of BRAG Writers Literary Magazine, you will gain a free entry to the poetry prize after an initial submission. Once you have purchased your entry from our online store, submit your work to us via email with your order number attached. Please see below for a list of prizes associated with the poetry competition.
1st Place: £100 + Publication
2nd Place: £25 + Publication
3rd Place: Publication
What are we looking for?
As always we are looking for works of Quality and that demonstrate skill. Give us your best. Do not worry about the subject matter. The best way to understand our tastes are to purchase a copy of BRAG online.
We wish you all the best of luck with submitting, and can't wait to read your fantastic work. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us by emailing management.brag@gmail.com.
